How to Export Classic Notes and Migrate them into Content Note in Salesforce

Published 24 July 2019

If you have transitioned from Salesforce Classic to Lightning edition, you may desire to bring all your notes together into one place, rather than having them separated as they are by default. Use Import2 export and import functions to translate all your Classic notes to Lightning notes.

1. Perform an export of Salesforce Classic notes

2. Prepare your CSV file to ensure the parent records are separated into separate columns by object type - such as opportunity, lead, account, contact

3. Upload your file and perform a CSV import

4. See all your notes in Lightning notes, and opt to remove the Classic notes from your page layouts
